Open Gear Lubricant
Anion Open Gear Lubricants are high performance, specially designed, open gear lubricants for rotory kilns, calciners, and dryers for the main gear and pinion interface.
The Anion OPL-1000 grease features a base oil and additive package that combines eco-friendliness with high load-carrying capacity, good adhesion to surfaces, and anti-wear and anti-corrosive effects. They comply with the requirements for classification as environmentally acceptable lubricants (EALs) in terms of biodegradability, toxicity and bioaccumulation.
Anion OPL-1000 offers excellent adhesion and water resistance for longer lubrication intervals, while contributing to longer component life and reduced wear. This product is formulated with an advanced additive system which protects against corrosion.

As rotory kilns and their operating environments become more demanding, there is a need for gear lubricants to change and meet these increased demands. ANION OGL-1500 is the solution. ANION OGL-1500 is designed to outperform under heavy loading, specifically for rotory kiln applications in the cement, lime, paper & minerals industries. It is designed to provide superior wear protection and evenly distribute lubrication to the important contact points.
Premier Performance
Open gear lubricants need to adhere to the pinion & gear surfaces without falling off. When gears are exposed, there usually is a significant amount dust contaminants from remnants in the air from cement, limestone, sand, coal, and water. These increased air contaminants typically distributes these particles all over the surface areas on the gear and pinion. This causes premature wear and many other issues such as spalling and pitting.
Our unique OPG lubricant formulation is a specialty lubricant which exhibits high viscosity, excellent adhesive and cohesive properties, high film strength, and extreme pressure protection all working together to provide a barrier against these contaminants. Exposed pinion & gears are also threatened by high pressure, movement, and lubricant build-up that can affect a grease’s performance. The scientists at Anion are aware of this and have developed our unique formulation with this in mind, allowing ANION OPL – 1500 to perform superbly in these extreme applications.
Premier Protection
ANION OGL-1500 contains specialty friction modifiers and dry film lubricants that adhere to the surfaces and provide a level of protection not common in OPG lubricants.
These specialty friction modifiers and tackifiers help prevent metal to metal contact on the pinion and gear which helps prevent shearing, spalling, and premature wear while providing better lubrication at the point of contact. This results in lower operating temperatures and the amount of friction being able to be reduced significantly.
